Amnesty International Ghana (AIG) is one of the section offices of Amnesty International around the world contributing to achieving the vision and mission of Amnesty International by taking part in its worldwide campaigns and also undertaking local human rights work.

Amnesty International Ghana is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following positions at its national office in Accra.

Job Title: Accounts and Administrative Assistant

Job Summary

• The Accounts and Administrative Assistant is an accounting and administrative support level position in Amnesty International Ghana staffing structure. The person will report to the Director through the Accounts Officer.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum qualification of higher national diploma (HND) in Accounting and related fields from an accredited institution or equivalent professional qualification
• Knowledge of business administration and business management will be an added advantage
• Demonstrated competence, knowledge, skills and ability in supporting / assisting / conducting, organsing and managing mass registration activities
• Ability to supervise volunteers and work teams and
• 2 years relevant experience

Competencies

The successful applicant must:

• Be computer literate (experience in an accounting software)
• Be willing to work long hours with strict deadline (in and out of the office)
• Be willing to travel extensively and internationally
• Be able to work in a team
• Be able to conduct interviews
• Be able to deal effectively with challenging field operational issues
• Be able to communicate clearly and listen attentively
• Have good presentation skills
• Able to work with little or no supervision

Location: Accra

 

Job Title: Human Rights Education and Activism Co-ordinator

Job Summary

• The Human Rights Education and Activism Co-ordinator will be responsble for the design, implementation and co-ordination of Amnesty International Ghana’s human rights education and activism programmes. He/She will report to the Director of Amnesty International Ghana.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of first degree in social sciences and related fields from an accredited institution or equivalent professional qualification
• 5 years relevant experience in working with youth groups
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of activism and youth mobilisation
• Good knowledge of youth culture
• Demonstrated knowledge of social media activism
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate human rights education programme
• Good understanding of human rights will be an added advantage

Competencies

The successful applicant must:

• Computer literate (experience in using online resources to promote youth activism)
• Willing to work long hours with strict deadline (in and out of the office)
• Willing to travel extensively and internationally
• Able to deal effectively with challenging field operational issues
• Able to meet and discuss issues with high level officials
• Able to work with little or no supervision

Location: Accra

 

Job Title: Campaign and Fundraising co-ordinator

Job Summary

• The primary responsibility of the campaign and fundraising Co-ordinator is to organise and coordinate strategic campaign projects and activities to raise funds for Amnesty International Ghans’s human rights work. He/She will report the Director of Amnesty International Ghana.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum first degree in social science and related field from an accredited institution or equivalent professional qualification
• Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising from non-government sources for charities
• Good understanding of human rights will be an added advantage
• Demonstrated competence in organising and managing social movement activities
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate campaign programmes
• 5 years relevant experience in fundraising and campaign programming

Competencies

The successful applicant must:

• Computer literate (e.g experience in online campaigning)
• Willing to work long hours with strict deadline
• Willing to travel extensively and internationally
• Able to raise funds for charitable work
• Able to deal effectively with challenging field operational issues
• Able to meet and discuss issues with high level officials
• Be able to do high level representation
• Be able to work with little or no supervision

Location: Accra

Job Title: Growth and Mobilisation Manager

Job Summary

• The growth and mobilisation manager will offer strategic direction, co-ordination and capacity building for maximising Amnesty International Ghana’s resources and engagement to ensure that the section achieves its growth and mobilisation targets. He/She will report to the Director of Amnesty International Ghana.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum first degree in social sciences and related fields from an accredited institution or equivalent professional qualification
• Demonstrated experience in social movement building
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in membership servicing
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate growth programmes
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in growth and mobilisation programming
• Good understanding of human rights activism will be an added advantage

Competencies

The successful applicant must:

• Be computer literate and possess the ability to use Microsoft Office
• Be willing to work long hours with strict deadline
• Be willing to travel extensively and internationally
• Have skills in capacity building and membership training
• Be able to do high level representation
• Be able to work with little or no supervision
