Apply for KNUST Nominations for Honorary Degrees Award – 2017

NOMINATIONS are open for the awards of Honorary Degrees to personalities who have distinguished themselves in diverse ways and contributed to the cause of the University, Higher Education, Ghana and the World at a Special Congregation scheduled for November, 2017.

The criteria for the nomination are as follows:

  1. Any and/or a combination of the following:
    1. Distinguished service to the University;
    2. Distinguished service to Ghana/International Community;
    3. Distinguished service to Humanity (service in items i, ii and iii is to be distinguished from service rendered by someone who only performed his normal duties, satisfactorily); and,
    4. Outstanding pioneering role worthy of emulation or resulting in a breakthrough in an important sector of the economy.
  2. Nominees should not have prior knowledge of their nominations.  This is to avoid any embarrassment should a nominee not be recommended for an award.
  3. Any person/group of persons who nominates a prospective Awardee should know the Candidate’s outstanding contribution in terms of the above criteria and provide justification in the form of a detailed write-up.
  4. Nominees currently holding political offices shall not be considered as a matter of policy.
  5. Nomination Forms may be obtained from the OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR during normal working hours (MONDAY – FRIDAY, 0800 -1700 HOURS).
  6. The deadline for the submission of nominations is MONDAY, AUGUST 21, 2017.
